He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD.

Psalm 40:3

Singing praise and worship is one of our oldest traditions of the church, but how intentional are we actually about this spiritual practice? In worship, music becomes a thin place that comes into existence anytime we use our voices, bodies, and abilities to praise our creator. Worship is where our hearts are laid out honestly and God can meet us where we are.

Join Damascus Road for Songs of the Soul. In this series, we will be looking at the songs of the Bible to see how God’s people worshiped in the circumstances they were in. Through the music of the Bible, we can hope to learn how to embrace worship with purpose in all its forms and learn how to meet God there with hope and authenticity. Maybe along the way, we will find that God has a new song for us to sing that can refresh our souls and strengthen our faith.

Mar. 13 - Apr. 3, 2021

“I AM WHO I AM. Say this to the people of Israel: I AM has sent me to you… Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.

This is my eternal name,

my name to remember for all generations.”

Exodus 3:14-15

I AM is the name of God, it is the name given to Moses as God speaks from the burning bush, and in the Gospel of John, when Jesus teaches the disciples who he is, he identifies himself as “I AM…” Jesus is God and through his “I AM” statements he claims his own divinity, and he teaches his disciples about his nature and our relationship to him.

Join Damascus Road for I AM as we explore these teachings and claims of Jesus and worship our Savior this Easter season.

We are in a hurry. Our culture makes constant demands of us: Do more. Accomplish more. Buy more. Post more. Be more. In following these demands, we have indeed become more: More anxious. More tired. More hurt. More depressed. More frantic. What we are doing isn't working!

Instead, let's try something different. Let's try the Ruthless Elimination of Hurry as we learn from the life and practices of Jesus Christ. Join Damascus Road as we learn how to stay emotionally healthy and spiritually alive in the chaos of the modern world.

Jan. 10 - Feb. 7, 2021

Every community is shaped by their values but those values are rarely expressed. They are the underlining culture that people experience but can't quite put into words. As we begin 2021 it's time to be crystal clear about what is core to who we are as a community. What are the core values that unite our community? What is the vision that drives our decisions?

Join us for a deep dive into our identity together as Damascus Road with This Is Us.
